Are we still happy?

Are we happy? We do every little thing to make us happy but are we happy ?

Melted in love...
Married and have kids...just out of immense joy
But are we still happy?

Worked day in and day out..
Earned a lot better...just to live comfortably
But are we still happy?

Planned out grand parties...
Arranged great escapades for holidays...just to rejuvenate
But are we still happy?

Furnished our house like heaven...
Had a cozy place to rest...just to relax thoroughly
But are we still happy?

Lead a global life...
Communicated worldwide...just to cope up with techno world
But are we still happy?

Satisfied all our taste buds...
Had enough off days...just to quench inner thirst
But are we still happy?

Indulged in all entertainments...
Bought all luxury...just with a swipe of card
But are we still happy?

Just take time to see this clipping......Indeed very motivational

Fall in Family Interaction

Earlier in my blog I wrote about the fall in Social Interaction as a result of Addiction to TV. But something even worse is happening nowadays in our home…..

It is a glorious sunny day outside, but our little girl is glued to her computer games indoors.

Mummy: Over?

Child: Silence

Mummy: Ok. That’s enough.

Child: Silence

Mummy: Silence

That’s the extent of conversations in our house today. Our alienated kids have their eyes glued to a fast-moving, homicidal maniac on a screen.

Fall in Family Interaction. What causes this?

The 21st century equivalent of TV is the Internet. Surfing the Net” has become a favorite occupation of children, young and not-so-young people. They spend countless hours wandering in cyber space just to feed their addictions. They roam in the cyber maze, not knowing where they started and with least intention about where to end up. Entertainment has become ever more personalized. Gamers of all ages are getting addicted at their own pace.

We are not only losing Social Interaction but also Family Interaction. In past years, parents and children would gather and watch TV as a family. Today, each one is closeted alone with a separate computer.

Ultimately, we feel ‘All Alone in a Crowd’. As urbanization came, slowly we cannot even live with our own parents anymore. Just Husband, Wife and Children made a family. Nowadays, even 2, 3 people cannot live together in peace, isn’t it? The highly connected Internet hasn’t broadened our horizon. But it has weakened our Family ties, in a way. It somewhere made us so narrow and individualistic…..

It has affected kids more. They live in a narrow sphere of life. They can’t even tolerate their own friends, neighbors, relatives or parents anymore. Remember, the way your little girl yelled, when u disturbed her while she was shooting a paratrooper jumping from a helicopter on computer……The ethos is simply “Kill them all and get to the Next Level”.

Children have to be computer literate to cope up in this changing world, but still we have to protect them. There is no necessary to feed kids with enormous amount of information through Internet Jargon. Instead we can read books to them. Sitting close to them and reading to them from the same book beats everything else. It would be tragic if the Internet age robbed us of this way of conveying our values to our kids.

All that we have to teach them is to handle themselves better and live better with themselves and with people around them, which is a very important factor.
