These same topics are being talked over and over from different angles. Sometimes it would be interesting to overhear the chit-chat of housewife aunties. They are very contradictory. (Me too, started saying boring, now saying interesting). They negate their own statement in a fraction of a second. Every woman in the chat wished to out-wit the other and portray herself as the most busy body.
Sometimes, they praise their kids for being too good. The next moment complain about the toils of motherhood and all the sacrifices they have made. They praise and curse their husbands in a recurrent loop.
They want to prove their fellow friends that ---
- Its me who bought cheap and best items, at-least 5 cents less than yours.
- Its me who is busy all the time.
- Its me who has tried all slimming techniques.
- Its me who had the most difficult pregnancy and child-birth.
- Its me who has the most devilish mother-in-law on earth.
- Its me who up-bring my kids smarter than yours.
Most of which won’t be true most of the time. Every rule has an exception. So, exceptional housewives do forgive me.
Housewives are thirsty for appreciation. Most of the time, their hard-work is unnoticed or un-recognized. Consequently, they become victims of flattery. For e.g. try saying a housewife that she looks more attractive when she puts eye-liner, then she would be flattered a lot. She would make it a point to put eye-liner often and would repeat your words of appreciation to most of her friends.
So they may be a boring template sometimes ……
